On the 26th of October 2024, RBB’s founder, Ruhi Loren Akhtar, had the honour of attending and speaking at the Peace, Justice & Unity event in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Sharing the stage with Jeremy Corbyn and a host of other inspiring voices, the evening brought together a community united in its commitment to human rights, even in the most challenging of times.
Organised by the Peace & Unity Initiative in collaboration with the Peace and Justice Project, the event highlighted the strength of collective action and the power of standing together against injustice. From student leaders advocating for the people of Palestine to those who boldly challenged racist and right-wing hostility over the summer, each speaker brought a message of resilience and solidarity.
Ruhi shared RBB’s journey, emphasising our unwavering support for the people of Gaza and those displaced in Greece. It was a privilege to amplify the voices of communities we stand with and shed light on the urgent humanitarian needs they face.
