Welcome to our July Newsletter! For the first two weeks of July 2023, the RBB team were on the Greek island of Chios. As many of you already know, this Greek island is one of our bases where we provide regular support and conduct large scale, population wide, aid distributions for those who are displaced in Vial Camp and surrounding apartments and squats.
Over the last few weeks we have had hundreds of people, including children, arriving to Chios from Turkey and they often arrive in poor, injured and starved conditions. Thus, our distribution took longer than expected as we ran out of food and needed to prepare for more. By the end of the distribution we had provided for 550 people including 100 children who were unaccompanied minors and from family units from countries such as Palestine, Yemen and Somalia.
By the time you will be reading this newsletter, the RBB team will have travelled from Chios to Athens. We are now we are in the process of our monthly distribution in Athens too.
The Food Packs we provided in Chios this month contained: 2 Kg Basmati Rice, 1 Kg Flour, 1 Kg Sugar, 1 L Milk, 1 L Sunflower Oil, 250 G Instant Coffee, 90 G Tinned Sardines, 400 G Tinned Halal Chicken and 200 G Tea bags. The Hygiene packs we provided this month contained: 750 ML Dishwashing Liquid and 500 G Washing Powder.

The 45 Eid Ul Adha gifts we provided were so loved by the children and it was heartwarming to see their smiles and lit up eyes upon receiving these gifts. This is only possible with your kindness and support.
