With the weather turning in Greece and the temperature dropping, now is the perfect time for us at Refugee Biriyani & Bananas to share our Winter Appeal. With winter arriving exceptionally early, the communities we support who are living in camps and on the street need food supplies and thermal clothing more than ever.
Your support will go towards essential humanitarian aid including essential food, hot meals, water, hygiene products and especially important for this winter distribution, thermal clothing. With ongoing projects across Greece and Gaza your support has never been more urgent!
Chios
As our team is in the throes of our distribution on Chios, we have been able to reach over 1,200 people living in Vial Refugee Camp and around Chios. Each received thermal gloves, socks, a rain jacket, as well as a food pack. The conditions here are inhumane as many are living outside in soon to be sub-zero conditions, some without electricity and often without water.
Gaza
Despite the increasingly unstable situation and immense challenges in delivering aid into Gaza, such as navigating conflict zones and restricted access. Our team will continue to support by distributing clean drinking water, food parcels and winter aid as is available. In November we successfully delivered 60x trucks of clean drinking water, amounting to 300,000 litres to thousands of people Gaza.
Rhodes
As always, we at Refugee Biriyani & Bananas are dynamically following the need. After visiting the island of Rhodes which is receiving an increasing number of new arrivals and witnessed the terrible living conditions where many are living in makeshift camps on the street with no access to basic necessities. Refugee Biriyani & Bananas is planning an emergency winter aid distribution for 400 people including families with young children.
